BS2000 Outdoor Barrel Sauna
A two-person barrel sauna in rustic Red Cedar, with a front porch that seats two — the feature that turns a garden sauna from a box you step into and out of into somewhere you actually spend an evening. Sit out, cool down, go back in: the rhythm that makes this a ritual rather than an appliance, and one that is hard to replicate without a porch.
The curved barrel profile is functional as much as it is attractive. Warm air circulates naturally, heat distributes evenly, and there are no square corners for warmth to stall in — which is why the form has survived unchanged in Scandinavia for as long as it has. It reaches temperature efficiently and holds it well, which matters through a British winter.
This is a traditional hot-stone sauna — real heat, real steam and the unmistakable scent of hot cedar. What is the difference between a barrel sauna and a standard cabin sauna?
The curved profile promotes natural convection — warm air rises and circulates continuously without dead corners. This means the BS2000 reaches temperature faster and holds heat more evenly than a square cabin of comparable size, and it tends to use less energy to maintain temperature.
What base does the BS2000 need?
A firm, level base is required — concrete, porcelain paving or quality composite decking are all suitable. Your pre-installation assessment will confirm exactly what is needed for your specific site and ground conditions.
Can I use this sauna year-round in the UK?
Yes. Red Cedar has excellent natural insulation properties, and the barrel profile minimises heat loss — making it a practical choice through a British winter as well as summer. The majority of our customers use theirs throughout the year.
What is the red light therapy upgrade?
An optional addition at £999, fitted at installation by the Medi-Spa team. Red light therapy panels are installed inside the barrel and operated from within, allowing you to combine heat and light therapy in a single session. Ask to have it included when you request your quote.
How long does installation take?
Installation is typically completed in a single day. The Medi-Spa team manages delivery, positioning, assembly and electrical connection, and conducts a full handover so you are confident using the sauna from your very first session.
