Plug and play means a standard 13A household socket: plug it in, fill it, heat it. No electrician required at installation.

Balboa controls are the industry standard for hot tub automation — intuitive, reliable, and widely supported for servicing. The Ascot is a round tub with a compact footprint, suited to gardens, patios, and balconies where space is a consideration. Despite its entry-level position in the range, it carries the same Medi-Spa installation standard: delivered, positioned and commissioned by our own team, with a full handover before we leave.

Frequently asked questions

Does plug and play really mean no electrician?
Yes — a standard 13A household socket is all that is needed. There are no additional electrical requirements for installation. If you later decide to upgrade to a hardwired supply for faster heating or higher performance, that can be done as a separate job at any time.

What are the running costs?
Plug and play hot tubs running on 13A draw less power than hardwired models, which means slightly slower heating but lower energy consumption at lower-intensity use. For a garden tub used socially rather than for daily therapy sessions, the Ascot is appropriately specified.

Can the Ascot be upgraded to a heat pump later?
Yes — if you want to reduce running costs significantly, a Clim8Zone heat pump can be quoted at any point after installation. It is not required at the Ascot price point but the option remains open.
